Wasted Space features Taproot

To steal a line from former Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra, "Nü metal's not dead; it just deserves to die."

And Michigan's Taproot seems to have gotten the message, with the trend-chasing band incorporating touches of screamo and metalcore into its melodic, radio-friendly charge now that both scenes are hot.

But hey, at least they're still in the game, and that's more than we can say for Crazy Town, now isn't it?

See Taproot at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock, 4455 Paradise Road.

Tickets are $15.
