Bands battling at The Box Office

The victors earn a spot at this year's Extreme Thing annual music and extreme sports fest, but the real winner is the Vegas music scene.

The "Xpoz Battle of the Fans" continues today, with 30 local bands showcasing over five nights at The Box Office. Fans vote online at www.xpozlv.com to determine the top seven acts, who will play Extreme Thing on March 28 at Desert Springs Park.

From hip-hoppers Rhyme N Rhythm to ribald rockers The Stript to metalcore favorites This Romantic Tragedy, a broad array of Las Vegas' rising young talent will take the stage in hopes of graduating to a much larger one. The competition heats up at 6 tonight at The Box Office, 1129 S. Casino Center Blvd. Tickets are $10; call 388-1515.
