Nevada brothel owner wins county commission post

VIRGINIA CITY - Mustang Ranch brothel owner Lance Gilman has a new job.

He defeated fellow Republican Mathew Conley 62 percent to 38 percent Tuesday to win a seat on the Storey County Commission in Northern Nevada.

Gilman will represent the district covering the northern part of the county where his brothel is located, about 10 miles east of Reno.

He believes his experience as a small-business owner with more than 40 brothel employees will prove helpful on the commission.

His current operation along Interstate 80 includes buildings that were once part of his Wild Horse Ranch bordello as well as the former Mustang Ranch's main building, formerly owned by Joe Conforte.

Gillman also is sales and marketing director of the nearby 107,000-acre Tahoe Reno Industrial Center .
