NHL AWARD FOUND DAMAGED AT AWARDS SHOW

The Ted Lindsay award for the NHL's most outstanding player as voted on by members of the NHL Players' Association was found damaged backstage during Wednesday's NHL Awards show at the Palms, Vegas Confidential learned. Vancouver's Daniel Sedin, who won the award, is seen holding his hand over the taped hockey stick attached to the figure atop the award. Media members were first told country music star Dierks Bentley, who performed during the telecast, might have bumped into the award, but a rep later said the damage was done in transit. Here’s a new spin on breaking news.

One of the NHL’s most prestigious trophies was found to be damaged during the NHL Awards show Wednesday at the Palms.

Broken was a hockey stick attached to the figurine that sits atop The Ted Lindsay award which goes to most outstanding player as voted on by fellow members of the NHL Players' Association.

Media members were first told that country music star Dierks Bentley may have accidentally bumped into the trophy backstage but an event rep later said the award was damaged in transit to Las Vegas, or while being transported after it arrived here.

When Vancouver’s Daniel Sedin, who won the award, posed for photographers during the show, photographers noticed he covered the taped hockey stick with his hand.
