Not all the kid stuff is fit for kids

Some of the biggest theaters in town are turning to family fare. Donny and Marie are playing the Flamingo. (Look in today's Neon for a review.) And it looks like "The Lion King" is headed for the Mandalay Bay showroom next year.

But Adventuredome at Circus Circus is bucking the trend by recommending that you DON'T take kids 12 and under to its annual Halloween show, "Fright Dome."

Among this year's acts -- people who hang on hooks, sword swallowers and "the world's shortest person."

Attractions are called things like Hillbilly Hell, Vampires Blood Feast, Chainsaw Massacre and Killer Klowns in 3D. I just don't picture Donny and Marie showing up, but I don't know them, so who am I to say?

In all, there are 23 rides and a "4-D" theater and stunt show. Starting tonight, it runs 7 p.m. to midnight during weekends through the end of the month ($33.95; fast passes are another $15; 794-3939).
