Noted scientist Al Gore ‘splains things to us deniers
After we republished a Wall Street Journal opinion piece by MIT meteorology professor Richard S. Lindzen under the headline "Portending Doom," a letter writer took the professor to task, saying she "went back to Al Gore's book, 'An Inconvenient Truth.' It's no surprise why the global warming deniers dislike Gore. He presents his arguments so the layman can understand them."
She went on to say of the former vice president, "When I've read articles by deniers, they always back their arguments with scientific mumbo-jumbo that a layman can't understand, but they never attack Gore's arguments. The earth has had warming and cooling periods over the past 650,000 years, but nothing like this. We are messing up the balance of nature so severely, we could be heading toward a catastrophe."
But how will she explain away this little video clip from a "Tonight Show" appearance in November?
Facts are so darned inconvenient. Seems the very core of the earth, according to "scientists," is probably no hotter than 7,000 degrees Celcius. As for 2 kilometers down and melting drill bits, I know some Texas grease orchard tool pushers who can solve that problem for the right price.
