Obama says sacrifice will be needed of all Americans

RENO -- Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama closed his 30-minute speech at the University of Nevada, Reno today by telling several thousand people that sacrifice will be required of all Americans to weather the nation's economic crisis.

Obama said that at the end of the day, there is no separation between Wall Street and Main Street; there's the road "we're all traveling on as Americans."

But he closed on an optimistic note, saying, "We have all been through tougher times before."

Obama urged members of Congress to step up and pass an economic bailout plan.

Earlier, Obama quieted the cheering crowd of several thousand supporters by focusing on the failure of Congress to pass a financial bailout package.

"We are now in a very dangerous situation," he said. "Millions of jobs could be lost."

Obama blamed the crisis on greed, both on Wall Street and in Washington, D.C.
