ObamaCare: Mumbo-jumbo or commonsense?

At one point during Friday night's tussle at UNLV Democratic political operative Howard Dean called the criticism coming from Republican presidential adviser Karl Rove "a theatrical piece of mumbo-jumbo."
While saying the stimulus plans have not worked, Rove said the recently signed health insurance reform bill will mortgage the future of the country with expenses that won't come due for years.
Dean, though saying he's not much of a fan of ObamaCare, praised the law's coverage of those with pre-existing conditions.
On Friday, a Wall Street Journal editorial explained how wonderful that is working out for Massachusetts with its older sister of ObamaCare.
Like the federal plan, the Massacusetts plan requires "insurers to cover anyone who applies regardless of health status or pre-existing conditions and to charge everyone about the same rates. This allows people to wait until they're about to incur major medical expenses before buying insurance and transfer the costs to everyone else."
The editorial notes one health plan found that in a one-year period about 40 percent of its newly insured stayed covered, and paying premiums, for fewer than five months. On average these people incurred costs about 600 percent higher than normal.
How long before everyone figures out how to dodge the system and drive every insurance company broke?
