Officer remains hospitalized after crash

The Las Vegas motorcycle officer struck by a vehicle Wednesday night remained hospitalized Thursday, although his injuries are not life threatening, police confirmed.

Evidence at the scene indicates a Jeep headed east on Sahara, hit the officer from behind as both vehicles traveled in the left lane.

The driver of the Jeep, Dana Saunders, 34, was arrested for driving under the influence with substantial bodily harm.

The officer, a 45-year-old man, was not identified.
