Official seeks new Fernley council vote
YERINGTON -- Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller has filed a lawsuit to force a new election in the Ward 2 Fernley City Council race.
In documents filed Tuesday in Yerington, Miller said about 50 people did not get to vote in the City Council race in November because it was not on their ballots.
After ballots were counted, Don Parsons defeated Don Howard by three votes.
Miller filed to force either the county or the city to hold a new election for the seat.
He also filed for an injunction to block Parsons from taking office until a new election is held.
