One 17-year-old killed, two injured as vehicle hits wall

One person was killed and two others were injured when a sport utility vehicle crashed into a block wall Friday afternoon in the southeast valley.

Witnesses told Las Vegas police the vehicle was speeding and doing doughnuts when the driver lost control and hit the wall about 1:45 p.m. on Gateway Road, near Russell and Sandhill roads, officer Barbara Morgan said.

All three of the people in the vehicle were 17, she said.

One person died at the scene and two others were transported to a local hospital.
