Osmond discusses Michael Jackson

Making the media rounds: Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond talks about his long friendship with Michael Jackson with Melanie & Michael on KSNE-FM, 106.5, about 8:30 a.m. today, the first anniversary of Jackson's death. Alicia Jacobs of KVBC-TV, Channel 3, has interviews tonight and Saturday with Jermaine Jackson, who claims his London concert is still a go. ...

KOMP-FM, 92.3, deejay "Sweet" Al Miller and his 333 The Band open for Puddle of Mud at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

"We are a heavy rock band with lyrics influenced by spirituality," said Miller, lead singer of the band he formed in 2003. His songwriting changed when his mother nearly died. "I needed to find some deeper meaning in this life. I also witnessed the power of music firsthand. I played all of her favorite music for her 24 hours a day until she would awaken. I would softly sing 'You got a Friend' from James Taylor to her. Then finally one morning, after seven days of music and prayer, her toe started tapping to James Brown's 'I Feel Good.' " Barbara Miller survived after Al donated a kidney in 2002. She turns 63 on Tuesday. ...

Riviera Broadcast Group exec Dave Presher is moving to Ohio to be vice president and general manager of the Columbus market for Radio One Inc. Presher was market manager in Las Vegas and president of digital for Riviera. He created the popular "Las Vegas Storytellers," which airs on KOAS-FM, 105.7, and KVGS-FM,107.9. ...

Services for former Las Vegas publicist Ryan Brooks were June 6 in Elko, where he grew up. Brooks, 49, died May 22 in Boston from a respiratory infection. He was named public relations director at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas in early 2009 but moved to Boston when the Fontainebleau went into foreclosure. He was a publicist for headliners Celine Dion and Andre Philipe Gagnon and The Venetian. Brooks once wrote speeches for U.S. Sen. Paul Laxalt of Nevada .

THE SCENE AND HEARD

The NHL apparently agrees with Paris Hilton's philosophy when it comes to the Stanley Cup: Nothing good happens after midnight. I asked old friend Joel Quenneville, who coached the Chicago Blackhawks to their first NHL title in 49 years, if the cup would be carousing our club scene . He reminded me that times have changed. "The cup has a curfew now. He turns into a pumpkin at midnight," said Quenneville , who with some Blackhawks stars accompanied the cup Tuesday to Yellowtail restaurant at Bellagio after the NHL Awards Show at the Palms.

Julien's Auctions wraps up its Music Icons auction today at Planet Hollywood resort and casino. Many items are on display, letting the public view what amounts to a mini-pop culture museum, from Bob Mackie's Cher outfits to the last shirt rapper Tupac Shakur wore the night he was shot in Las Vegas in 1996. ... At Town Square, Nu Sanctuary chef Brian Howard has come up with one of the most exciting small plates menus to hit these parts.

Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., at Liquid pool at Aria (CityCenter) and Gold nightclub Wednesday after his flight to Canada got delayed. ... Imperial Palace headliners Human Nature, paying tribute to Jackson on the eve of the anniversary of his death. The group opened for Jackson.
