Out with the mouse?

Apple, the company that popularized the use of the computer mouse back in 1984, has introduced the better mousetrap, er trackpad, that is.
For $69, computer users can buy the accessory that lets desktop users manipulate their cursor, images and other digital content in the same manner they do on many laptop computers. The sleek "magic trackpad" is constructed of brushed aluminum with a glass surface. The size isn't specified on the Apple site, but it is larger than the trackpad found on the Apple laptops.
I haven't tested the new input device, but am familiar with the "gestures" used in the multitouch navigation system. It takes just a little bit of practice to figure out the best ways to pinch, grab and swipe to make things happen on the screen. The new touchpad is wireless, and Apple says it work up to 33 feet away from the computer.
