Pair charged with robbery, murder attempt

Two men who police say were involved in a late-night robbery have been charged with attempted murder and other crimes.

Dandre Lovett and John Cervantes have been linked to a Jan. 7 robbery at the Wells Fargo bank ATM at 3300 W. Sahara Ave.

About 9:25 p.m., Sean Cronin visited the bank to withdraw money from the ATM. As Cronin went back to his car, he was approached by a man holding a shotgun. Cronin surrendered his wallet, turned away from the man and recalled being shot twice in the head. He fell to the ground but eventually got into his vehicle and drove to his apartment, where his wife called authorities.

Lovett and Cervantes were arrested later that night.

On Jan. 15, Cronin identified Cervantes in a photo lineup as the man who approached him in the parking lot. He could not identify Lovett because he never saw the driver, police said.

On Friday, both Cervantes and Lovett were charged with attempted murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon.
