Passenger killed in accident identified as 19-year-old man

The 19-year-old man who died after a Monday night crash in the east valley was identified by the Clark County coroner's office Wednesday as Jason Mraz.

Las Vegas police said the crash occurred about 11:25 p.m. on Hollywood Boulevard, south of Charleston Boulevard.

Mraz was a passenger in a 2000 Dodge Neon driven by an unidentified male teen.

Police said the 17-year-old driver of the Neon lost control while traveling south on Hollywood. The Neon veered into the north travel lanes and struck a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The 17-year-old was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. His condition was unknown Wednesday. Mraz was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Two teenagers in the Hyundai were treated for minor injuries at UMC.
