Passenger killed in Craig Road crash

A passenger was killed in North Las Vegas on Monday when the car the person was riding in failed to yield to a tow truck.

Police said the 51-year-old North Las Vegas resident was in a 2002 Hyundai sedan driven by a 47-year-old woman. The driver of the car attempted to turn left onto Commerce Street from eastbound Craig Road and was hit by an oncoming tow truck at 3:02 p.m.

The truck, which police said had the right-of-way, struck the car and caused both vehicles to spin into the path of a 2005 Hyundai.

The passenger in the 2002 Hyundai died at the scene. The drivers of both Hyundais were taken to University Medical Center in serious condition. The driver of the tow truck, a 28-year-old North Las Vegas resident, suffered minor injuries, police said.
