Peace, love and big screen TVs

It's fair to call the International Consumer Electronics Show a zoo -- there are more than 100,000 attendees and thousands of media people crammed into a few convention centers for four days.

It's rare to see such as literal example of zooishness as the one I saw in the press room when I picked up my credentials Wednesday evening. Behind me in line there was a guy with a parrot, a live, breathing, beautiful parrot, on his shoulder.

It turns out the bird is named Beautiful Yaffa Lovepeace and, no kidding, is a partner in his company A-Vision TM Media.

The guy's name is Ken Lager. He flew from Boston with Beautiful Yaffa, a 22-year-old Yellow-naped Amazon Parrot.

Yaffa and Lagr are 24-7 partners and the bird even rode shotgun on the flight from Boston.

"The plane required an appropriate pet carrier," Lager said. "Nobody asked us to use it, everybody was too entertained."

Yaffa is not only housebroken, but toilet trained. He just lets Lager know when he needs a break, and they find a restroom.

The bird's most important mission, however, is to promote peace and love, hence his name, Lager says.

Here's a picture of Yaffa shot with my cell phone. Lager says a friend of his in Las Vegas has a parrot he could sell to a good owner. He probably wouldn't mind if you inquired further at 2ken3d@gmail.com.
