Pedestrian dies after struck by car on Boulder Highway

A female pedestrian died after being hit by a truck early Monday morning on Boulder Highway, south of Galleria Drive.

According to a Henderson police spokesman, the incident occurred about 4:31 a.m. The woman was not in a crosswalk and was more than 600 feet from an intersection.

The driver of the 1999 Toyota Tacoma that hit her voluntarily submitted to a blood test, and police said they do not believe intoxication or speed caused the accident.

The southbound lanes of Boulder Highway were closed about four hours while police investigated.

This is the third pedestrian killed in a motor vehicle crash in Henderson this year.
