Pedestrian killed crossing street identified

A pedestrian killed early Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street was identified as 57-year-old James Crevelt of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said.
Las Vegas police said Crevelt was crossing Flamingo Road outside the crosswalk, near El Oro Street, from the south to the north when he was struck by a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 71-year-old man.
He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges against the driver have been filed.
