Pedestrian killed in Thursday accident identified

The woman who died after being hit by an SUV on the southwest side of Las Vegas Thursday evening has been identified.

Quida Marie Gee, 59, was crossing South Durango Drive near Eldora Avenue just before 6 p.m. outside of a marked crosswalk. A 2009 GMC Yukon Denali SUV was traveling north on Durango when Gee walked in front of it, police said.

Gee was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner’s office has not yet released her official cause of death.

This was the 24th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
