Pedestrian struck, killed Thursday identified
A man struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street Thursday was identified by the county coroner's office Monday.
David Nye, 42, was fatally struck by a Mack truck near Tropicana Avenue and Valley View Boulevard.
Las Vegas police said the truck, driven by 36-year-old Alis Ramirez, was traveling west on Tropicana at Valley View proceeding through the intersection on a green light while the pedestrian was crossing Tropicana from south to north.
Nye was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remained under investigation.
The incident marked the 48th traffic fatality of the year under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
