Phony iPhone doesn’t ring true

iPhone shoppers should be on the lookout for counterfeit devices being sold on eBay. According to several reports, the devices are coming from China, and at first glance appear to be the real thing. The similarities end, however, when the phone is put into service, as the applications either don't run or run extremely slowly.

The bottom line: buy your iPhone directly from either an Apple store (online, www.apple.com or retail location, three in Las Vegas, The Forum Shops, Town Square and Fashion Show mall) or an AT&T store (10 in southern Nevada, locations at att.com).
