April 6, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Former Clark County sheriff's candidate Morris "Moe" Mattingly was arrested this week by Henderson police.
Mattingly, a retired Metropolitan Police Department lieutenant, was taken into custody on a warrant that includes two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and four counts of aiming or discharging a firearm, police said. He was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on Wednesday and was bailed out Thursday morning.
The situation that led to the charges was not immediately made available by police.
Mattingly was one of 16 sheriff's candidates on the August primary ballot. He got 428 votes, or 0.26 percent of the vote, and did not advance to the general election.
