Las Vegas police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with the sexual assault of a female juvenile.

Police said Eriberto Galdamez, 44, befriended the girl while attending a local church then later connected with her on social media.

Detectives believe Galdamez was in contact with the girl for several months before the sexual assault occurred earlier this month.

Galdamez faces two counts of lewdness with a child under 14 and sexual assault of a child under 16.
