Police hunt for suspect in teen’s slaying

Las Vegas police are searching for the suspect who shot and killed a man Sunday night near an apartment complex on West Bonanza Road near Rancho Drive.

Police said 18-year-old Calvin Thompson of Las Vegas was found wounded about 10:15 p.m. near the 2200 block of West Bonanza. He was pronounced dead shortly after he was found.

The Clark County coroner's office said Thompson died of a gunshot wound to the torso and ruled his death a homicide.

Detectives said Thompson and the male suspect were arguing before shots were fired.

The suspect is described as black, 17 to 20 years old and a little more than 6 feet tall. His hair was in braids.
