Police investigate older couple’s murder-suicide

An elderly couple was found dead from gunshot wounds inside their home on Monday afternoon, and the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide, according to Las Vegas police.

Lt. Lew Roberts said police received a call about 1 p.m. from a man saying his mother and father were shot at their home in the 1900 block of Madagascar Lane. The home is located in a neighborhood near Sahara Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive.

Roberts said police found the man and woman, both of whom appeared to be in their 70s, dead from gunshot wounds.

They were lying on a bed in the master bedroom of the home.

"The wife was seriously ill," Roberts said. "The husband was seriously ill. One killed the other."

Their identities were not released by police Monday afternoon.

Roberts said police it was as yet unclear as to who fired the weapon.
