Police name suspect in shooting

Las Vegas police on Tuesday identified a suspect in a slaying that left one man dead near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard last week.

Police named 27-year-old Jose Antonio Cordova as a suspect in the shooting. Cordova is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in the 300 block of Steelhead Lane in Las Vegas.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police were called at 11 p.m. Friday after a man was shot on Retalbo Avenue. Witnesses told police the victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to University Medical Center and later died.

Police believe there are several suspects who may have fled in a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck with Nevada plates. The truck is lowered and has blue and white graphics on its sides, police said.
