Police release statistics on New Year’s Eve arrests

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Wednesday released its final statistics on New Year's Eve arrests.

A total of 159 people were arrested on various felony and misdemeanor charges and booked at Clark County Detention Center, with an additional 19 people cited and released.

There were also 68 drunken driving arrests, bringing the total to 227.

There were 66 reported traffic accidents from 7 a.m. Dec. 31 to 8 a.m. on Jan. 1, with no fatalities.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reported 48 drunken driven arrests.
