Prayer vigil set for missing Israeli teens
A prayer vigil for three Israeli teenagers kidnapped last Friday in the West Bank will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tivoli Village, 302 S. Rampart Boulevard. The vigil is being organized by the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, Board of Rabbis of Southern Nevada and the Israeli American Council.
The teenagers, Gilad Shaar, 16, Naftali Frenkel, 16, and Eyal Yifrach, 19, disappeared in the West Bank Thursday night while hitchhiking near the Palestinian city of Hebron. The Israeli government has accused Hamas, an Islamic militant group sworn to Israel’s destruction, of being behind the abduction. Hamas has denied involvement.
“The three kidnapped teens are our sons, too,” said Elliot B. Karp, president & CEO of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. “Our Jewish community is in complete solidarity with the people of Israel and we offer our prayers that the abducted boys will be found safely and returned home to their parents and families soon.”
