Public invited to suggest how to shape commission districts
The public will have a chance to suggest how Clark County Commission districts should be reshaped to accommodate population changes in the past decade.
Boundaries are redrawn every 10 years after the U.S. census to make districts as equal in population as possible.
Three workshops will be held this month on redistricting:
■ Monday , 6-8 p.m., Pearson Community Center, 1625 West Carey Ave.
■ Wednesday , 6-8 p.m., Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road.
■ June 22, 6-8 p.m., East Las Vegas Community and Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.
Consultant David Heller will consider public input when drafting new district maps. County commissioners will vote on new boundaries by late summer.
Residents may email comments to redistricting@ClarkCountyNV.gov.
Or they can mail them to the Jennifer Lances in the County Manager's office, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155.
