Race for two seats on Boulder City council narrowed to four candidates

The crowded race for two seats on the Boulder City Council is down from 10 candidates to four.

Former Las Vegas Monorail chief Cam Walker, retired Boulder City library director Duncan McCoy, former City Councilman Bill Smith and recycling consultant Joe Roche all advanced to the June 2 general election.

McCoy finished first with just over 26 percent of the vote. Walker came in second, 48 votes behind and with 25 percent of the total. Smith was third with about 17 percent, and Roche was fourth with about 12 percent.

The seats will go to the top two finishers on June 2.

There is no incumbent in the race. City Councilwoman Andrea Anderson decided not to seek re-election, and Councilman Mike Pacini is being forced out by term limits.

Boulder City is home to almost 17,000 residents and 10,034 registered voters.
