Reward offered for man charged in DUI case

Stop DUI is offering a $5,000 cash reward to help catch a fugitive wanted in a drunken driving crash that killed a motorcyclist earlier this year, the organization announced Friday.

Carlos A. Henriquez was arrested and booked on a felony drunken driving charge in the death of James Corrao, 53, who died in March after the crash on Tropicana Avenue west of Mountain Vista Street.

Henriquez turned his Dodge Ram pickup in front of Corrao's 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Las Vegas police said. Corrao's wife, Deborah, was riding behind him and laid down her motorcycle to avoid the truck, police said.

After the collision, Henriquez tried to speed away but crashed into a fence, where bystanders caught and held him until police arrived.

A judge released Henriquez within days of his arrest because prosecutors were waiting for blood-alcohol test results and had not filed formal charges, said Stop DUI's Sandy Heverly. Henriquez was eventually charged but did not appear for his April court date.

Stop DUI had offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to Henriquez's arrest and raised the amount in hopes of generating new leads.

Henriquez, 53, is Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 165 pounds. Police said Henriquez has family in Las Vegas and might be in the area.
