A motorcyclist was killed Thursday evening in a wreck on state Route 159 near Red Rock Canyon, authorities said.

Emergency workers were called about 8 p.m. The cause of the wreck was unavailable.

Whether the Nevada Highway Patrol or the Metropolitan Police Department would be investigating the wreck was unclear because of jurisdictional issues.
