SAMMY SOSA HITS SURRENDER

Retired Major League Baseball star Sammy Sosa partied with friends Friday at Surrender (Encore). Sosa became known for his time with the Chicago Cubs, racing now-retired St. Louis Cardinals player Mark McGwire in the 1998 "home run record chase.” The two attempted to pass Roger Maris' single season home run record of 61 from 1961. Though Sosa lost that race, he became the first Major League batter ever to hit 65 homers in a season, earning him the nickname “Slammin' Sammy.” (Photo courtesy of Bryan Schnitzer)
