Adventurers can take a 45-minute, $50 flight without wings Saturday to benefit the Sandy Valley Fire Department.
The 13th annual Sandy Valley Balloon Fest, will feature free-fly balloons from Las Vegas and California, a pancake breakfast at $5 per adult or $3 per child, a raffle, blood drive and safety demonstrations from law enforcement and other companies such as Mercy Air, Valley Electric, and the American Medical Response and MedicWest ambulance companies.
"This great event is a wonderful opportunity to get to know this small town while supporting the dedicated volunteer firefighters in Sandy Valley," said Commissioner Susan Brager.
The festival is the Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department's largest fundraiser and will help pay for training, supplies and equipment.
Tickets for the balloon ride can be purchased in advance at the fire department or Sandy Valley Post Office.
The festival will be in Sandy Valley at Keystone Center, 115 N. Miami St. from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. For additional information, call Bob Skelton at 203-1150 or call Electra Smith at 723-1350.
