School district employees won’t get COLAs next year

Teachers and school employees will not get cost-of-living increases in the 2010-11 school year, according to an early budget outlook by the Clark County School District.
The district, however, will maintain salary increases based on employees’ years of experience and professional qualifications and education, officials said today.
Finance officers are planning to carry over $50 million in one-time savings from the 2009-10 school year to help pay for next year’s expenses.
