Search suspended for missing Henderson woman

LOGAN, Utah — Authorities have suspended a search for a Henderson woman who was reported missing after she went hiking in northern Utah's Green Canyon.

The Cache County sheriff's office says it stopped the ground search for Andrea Celina Roye on Monday.

The 18-year-old was reported missing Aug. 6 by her boyfriend after she didn't return from the canyon at the expected time.

Sheriff's Lt. Matt Bilodeau says all resources, including helicopters, search dogs and infrared detection, have been used and Roye hasn't been found. There were earlier indications that she simply went hiking and wasn't in danger.

Roye's mother, Janice Roye, says it's uncharacteristic of her daughter not to tell her whereabouts. She plans to continue searching.
