Settlement reached in Tahoe pier dispute

ROUND HILL -- Environmental regulators and a Lake Tahoe property owner have settled a dispute over environmental rule violations that stretch back to 2008.

Tamara Fritz and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency agreed to terms this week resolving violations between April 2008 and March 2011. They included an unauthorized pier expansion, the addition of a secondary boatlift, unauthorized storage, snow removal from unpaved areas and violation of cease-and-desist orders at a residence and vacant parcel owned by Fritz in Tahoe City.

Fritz's lakefront property is the site of the annual Oscar de la Renta Fashion Show, an event that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

The settlement requires Fritz to pay $35,000 to the TRPA within 30 days and restore the vacant property and remove the boatlift no later than Nov. 15.
