‘Show and tell’ killer released from prison, 21 years after crime

"Show and tell" killer Sandy Shaw was released from prison Monday morning, more than 21 years after she and two teen accomplices lured a 21-year-old man into the desert, robbed and killed him.

The Department of Corrections confirmed that Shaw, 36, was released from the Southern Nevada Women's Correctional Center in North Las Vegas. The state parole board granted her parole Sept. 10.

Shaw was a 15-year-old Rancho High School student when she, Troy Kell and William Merritt killed James Cotton Kelly. She earned the moniker "show and tell" killer because she took friends to see Kelly's body after the slaying.
