Single-vehicle crash kills man, age 51

A 51-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning when he lost control of his truck, Las Vegas police confirmed.

The man, who was not identified, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck at about 12:45 a.m. east on Bonanza Road, near Lillian Street, when his tires began sliding on the wet road, police said.

The truck skipped over a curb, struck a building, rolled onto its left side and hit a palm tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the fourth traffic-related fatality in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
