SLAUGHTERED

Slaughter-ed

Former San Diego State star Marcus Slaughter looked like he was ready to have a breakout game for the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday. Slaughter scored
six of his team’s first eight points, including some highlight reel plays.
That was it. He went 0-for-3 the rest of the way and did not score another point. His Bobcats trailed by as many as 15 points in the contest and the
Pistons went on to a wire-to-wire 78-67 victory
Several Detroit players were impressive in the victory. Former Virginia Tech standout Deron Washington had a very noisy 14 points, with several nice defensive plays
that turned into dunks. Will Bynum had 16 points and Aaron Afflalo added 10 points and six assists. Cheikh Samb had 15 points, but the 7-foot-1-inch center from Senegal had just four rebounds in 30-plus minutes of action.
You’ve got to crash the boards, big fella.

Plaisted quiet again

Why is Trent Plaisted in this league and not getting ready for his senior season in Provo, Utah? He is clearly not ready for the NBA.
The former Brigham Young standout was 1-for-3 from the floor and did not get a rebound in 15 minutes of action for Detroit.
He will be lucky to ever play in the league, but on the bright side, we hear there is an open roster spot on Spartak St. Petersburg. That
is where another former Cougar, Rafael Araujo, is currently playing.

Augustin not suited up

Charlotte point guard D.J. Augustin was not in uniform for today’s game against Detroit. He has tendonitis in his knee.
