On the campaign trail, now-President Obama repeatedly promised unprecedented transparency in his administration. He even singled out his health insurance reform plan, saying all talks would be televised on C-SPAN.

Now that the House and Senate are trying to merge their two versions, there are not even sham conference committee meetings while the real talks are behind closed doors. It is all in secret.
