Spring Mountain, Red Rock Canyon areas under winter storm advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm advisory from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Spring Mountain and Red Rock Canyon areas.

Beginning at midnight, heavy snow will fall at elevations of 5,000 feet and higher. These locations could see between five and 10 inches this evening.

There also is a slight chance of rain throughout the valley until Sunday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50s.
