St. Rose Parkway garage blaze causes $350,000 damage

Henderson fire officials are investigating a garage fire that caused about $350,000 worth of damage to a home near St. Rose Parkway and Bermuda Road Saturday morning.

Firefighters were met around 6 a.m. Saturday by heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage of a home located at 3705 Via Di Girolamo Avenue.

Crews were able to contain the blaze within minutes but estimated the fire caused about $350,000 in damage. A family of three was home at the time of the fire but got out uninjured.

They were awoken by the smell of smoke and alert of smoke detectors around 5:50 a.m. Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
