State attorney general announces three indicted in foreclosure scam

Three people alleged to have operated a foreclosure scam in 2008 and 2009 were indicted Thursday, according to the Nevada attorney general's office.

Indictments were issued for attorney Ramon Dy-Ragos, and Jesus Baca and Luis O. Baca, who were named as partners in the Las Vegas scam. Jesus Baca is also known as Jesse Baca.

Authorities said the foreclosure scam operated under the name of "Save Your House."

Authorities contend the two men accepted fees from clients that ranged from $1,000 to $3,995. The defendants told clients they could prevent foreclosure by not paying their mortgages and ceasing all contact with the banks holding their mortgages.

The defendants claimed they would modify the mortgages through negotiation and by suing the mortgage holders, authorities said.

Dy-Ragos and Jesus Baca face several felony counts of theft and a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy. Luis O. Baca faces a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy.

Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the attorney general's office at 702-486-3194 in Las Vegas, or 775-684-1180 in Carson City.
