State employee is arrested

A state employee was arrested on felony charges of misconduct of a public officer and using personal information for unlawful purposes, the state attorney general announced Tuesday.

Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said Brian Hunt, who worked for the State Department of Information Technology, committed a breach of security. Hunt worked at the Richard H. Bryan office building in Carson City.

The complaint states that Hunt is accused of creating or using key cards to enter the building after hours without permission in order to harass and obtain information about his wife, also a state employee who worked in the building.

Masto said Hunt was arrested while being released from jail on other charges.
