Two Clark County homeowners and one in Carson City are the first to seek help under the state foreclosure mediation program, the Nevada Supreme Court said.
Court spokesman Bill Gang said the first mediation hearings are expected after training sessions Aug. 5 in Reno and Aug. 6-7 in Las Vegas.
More than 2,400 foreclosure notices were filed in the state in three weeks after the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program began July 1, mostly in Clark County, officials said.
Owner-occupied homes, commercial and non-owner-occupied properties are eligible for mediation under the program created by the Legislature.
Chief Justice James Hardesty said the goal is to ease burdens for some lenders and help people save their homes.
