With high gas prices forcing residents to curtail their vacation plans, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority makes it easier than ever for locals to plan a stayaction or just have fun on the weekends with its Stay and Play Here website. With a valid Nevada driver's license or ID card, residents can find deals on show tickets, spa treatments, nightclub admission, restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas, Boulder City, Laughlin, Mesquite and Primm.

Two years ago, the convention authority partnered with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce to enrich the lives of locals during tough economic times. And fortunately for Southern Nevadans, "this is the world's premier vacation destination and it's right in our own backyard," as the website states.
