MOVIES TO RESUME AT WHITNEY PARK

Whitney Park visitors will again be able to enjoy a free monthly movie starting this month.

Clark County Commissioner Mary Beth Scow said she is working with the Metropolitan Police Department to provide a safe environment for families during the movie in the park events.

Movies are planned on the last Friday in March, April and May at the park, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.

SKATEBOARDING COMPETITION SET FOR MARCH 22

A skateboarding competition is set for 9 a.m. March 22 at Winchester Park, 3130 McLeod Drive, in an effort to promote completion of school.

The event is part of an initiative from Push Forward that focuses on providing kids with an incentive to stay in school and graduate from high school and college.

The program is culture-based, and an art display is planned.

Admission is $3 and is open to the public.
