Suspect sought in beating

Las Vegas police released a sketch Friday of a man who they suspect severely beat up a 65-year-old woman earlier this week and stole her car.

Police said the suspect is a Hispanic man in his late 20s with a stocky, muscular build and shaved head. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, according to police, who said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Lt. Clint Nichols said the attack occurred about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the woman's home near Smoke Ranch Road and Buffalo Drive.

Nichols said the suspect knocked on the woman's door with the ruse of looking for a lost dog. Nichols said the suspect sat on the victim's chest and punched her about 40 times.

He then mentioned needing her car, took her keys and fled in the vehicle, Nichols said.

The car is a silver 2009 Infiniti G35 with Nevada license plate 807 KPC.

Anyone with information regarding the crime is urged to call the Las Vegas police robbery section at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
